AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT AND OTHER TYPES OF MOLD SAMPLING

• Air sampling is the most common type of sampling for conducting Air Quality Assessments.There are two types of air sampling methods. The most common type filters a certain volume of air an spores are microscopically viewed and counted at a laboratory, in the other spores are deposited on a growth medium, allowed to grow and then identified.

• Surface sampling can be conducted by using a transparent tape to lift spores off a surface and the other way is to swab a certain area of a surface and growing the mold in a medium.

• Bulk sampling is conducted by removing some of the questionable material packaging it and sending it off to a laboratory.

• Different types of sampling is used for specific situations.
